The Canaries beat Man City at Carrow Road and Shearer picked two Norwich players and their manager in his weekly XI.

A number of Norwich City fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Alan Shearer’s latest picks for Premier League Team of the Week.
The Canaries put in a superb performance to claim a 3-2 win against Manchester City at Carrow Road on Saturday, and Shearer selected two players in his XI, plus Daniel Farke as his manager of the week.
Emiliano Buendia was picked in midfield, with the England legend saying he “did it all against the reigning champions… he got two assists and was absolutely everywhere”, also making nine recoveries and four tackles (official Premier League website).
Jamal Lewis, meanwhile, was named at left-back for his “brilliant defensive display against both Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva”, while the rest of the XI was composed of players from Southampton, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool.
There was no room in Shearer’s XI for either Teemu Pukki, who weighed in with a 50th-minute goal to take his tally to six league strikes for the season, or the very impressive Todd Cantwell, also on the scoresheet.
Quite a few fans, Norwich and neutral, questioned the pundit’s choices and made their feelings known on social media:
Regarding Farke, Shearer said he was “not afraid to take the game to the champions… his bravery was fully rewarded”.
Norwich now sit 13th in the Premier League table, with six points from five games, and up next for the Canaries is Burnley away this coming Saturday.
