Lafferty was an unused substitute as Norwich lost against Leeds.
Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty, who was linked with a move to Leeds United last season, has raved about the atmosphere at Elland Road.
Lafferty was an unused substitute during Tuesday’s encounter with Leeds, which Norwich lost 3-2 on penalties.

Despite being an EFL Cup tie between two teams from the same division, the fixture drew an impressive 22,222 spectators.
And in a tweet which has since been deleted, Lafferty wrote: “Unlucky tonight with the result, lads gave it all. What an atmosphere, best I’ve heard in a while. Obviously except for Northern Ireland and Norwich”.

Had former Leeds boss Steve Evans had his way, Lafferty would have been a Whites player during the second half of last season.
Evans ultimately conceded defeat, however, telling the BBC that Norwich’s financial demands were “huge” and that the Northern Irishman’s wages would have “ripped the dressing room apart”.

Lafferty later joined Birmingham City on loan, but returned to Carrow Road following the Canaries’ relegation last season.
The former Rangers man has struggled for games, however, making five appearances and starting just once in all competitions.

Leeds’ win sees them progress to the competition’s quarter-final stage for only the second time since they finished runners-up to Aston Villa in 1996.
