Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers brought Russell Martin to Ibrox on loan from Norwich City in the January transfer window.

Martin joined Rangers on loan from Norwich City in the Championship in England in the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old defender is scheduled to remain at Ibrox until the end of the season, and the Scotland international has suggested that he wants to be part of the Glasgow giants for the 2018-19 campaign as well.

Martin told The Scottish Sun: “I am playing for my own future, I know that. I am still contracted to Norwich but my intention has been the same since I started here — to prove that I am worthy of staying here. Games like this will only help that by playing well.”

Celtic game important
Martin made the aforementioned comments ahead of Sunday afternoon’s match between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden Park in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
The 32-year-old defender is likely to start for the Gers, and the Rangers fans will expect him to play well at the back.
It is going to be a tough afternoon for Martin, as Celtic have the best attacking unit in Scotland, but one suspects that the former Peterborough United defender will be relishing the challenge.
