Manchester City are set to confirm the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson, which is being viewed as good news by fans of Norwich City.

Ederson’s imminent transfer to Manchester City can only mean one thing as far as Norwich City fans are concerned.
The Benfica goalkeeper’s £35 million arrival is set to be confirmed by the Premier League side, after his current employers announced he had agreed a move to the Etihad Stadium on Thursday.
Ederson’s capture will see Manchester City’s between-the-sticks options swell to four, with Claudio Bravo, Joe Hart and Angus Gunn expected to compete beneath the Brazilian – at least until Hart moves on.

And whether the England number 1 does or not remains to be seen, with little more than tentative interest reported so far.
Either way, Gunn’s prospects aren’t looking great, and it appears Norwich fans will happily accommodate the 21-year-old should he wish to leave on loan, after the Canaries released experienced shot-stopper John Ruddy this summer.

Born in Norwich during his father Bryan’s time at Carrow Road, Gunn had been on the Canaries’ books initially, but moved to Manchester City at the age of 15.
And despite having never appeared for either club competitively, the youngster’s six England Under-21 caps suggest he’s extremely well regarded.
