The Whites still occupy an automatic promotion spot, and look on course for the Premier League, but won’t want Sunday’s defeat to spark a tumble.
It’s still likely that Marcelo Bielsa’s men will end up in the Premier League next season, and the Whites continue to be linked with new signings even before their promotion is sealed.
On Monday, Read Norwich reported an exclusive story that Norwich City ace Emiliano Buendia is wanted by the Leeds if they do win promotion.
Leeds have allegedly made contact about a potential deal. It’s unclear whether they have even received a reply, but the Whites appear to be making their move early.
The Argentinian, 23, has racked up seven assists in the Premier League this season. His creativity is further underline by his 75 key passes; only Kevin De Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold have more in the Premier League.
Buendia was expected to join Leeds in 2018 due to their links with Cultural Leonesa, but Norwich swooped in and beat them to the deal, as claimed by Canaries director football Stuart Webber to The Telegraph last year.
It would be more surprising if Leeds weren’t still interested in Buendia after seeing him thrive in the Premier League – but Norwich fans can’t see him going to Elland Road.
Some Norwich fans on Twitter merely laughed at the rumours, with others suspecting he will go to a ‘bigger’ club whilst admitting they would hate to see Buendia join Leeds…
