Leeds United’s play-off bid has hit the buffers in recent weeks, and now manager Garry Monk is being linked with a move away from Elland Road.

With consecutive defeats against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burton Albion, Leeds have now slipped out of the play-off places – and with just two games to go, their slip-up has come at the worst possible time.

Manager Monk will be looking to rally his troops for key games against Norwich City and Wigan Athletic, but speculation surrounds the former Swansea manager’s future at Elland Road.

Monk’s contract, penned last June, was a one-year rolling deal, and with no deal struck over a longer-term contract, there are fears that Monk could move on at the end of the season.

The Mirror reported earlier this week that Norwich City, currently without a manager having parted ways with Alex Neil last month, are keen to bring in Monk as their new boss at the end of the season.

Leeds won’t want to see Monk leave after an impressive season in the Elland Road dugout, whilst Norwich fans appear to be a little divided over the possibility of the 38-year-old becoming the new Canaries manager.

Some believe that Monk has shown enough with Leeds to suggest that he would be a smart appointment, with suggestions that Norwich could do a lot worse than target the former centre back.

However, others aren’t quite so blown away by Monk’s managerial record, and even want Fleetwood Town boss Uwe Rosler – formerly of Leeds United – to land the job ahead of Monk, putting their faith in new director of football Stuart Webber to make the right decision.
