Norwich City take on Liverpool in the first game of the season.

Norwich City technical director Stuart Webber has backed Daniel Farke as one day capable of managing Liverpool.

The Canaries take on the Reds on the first day of the season, hoping to avoid defeat.

Liverpool are heavy favourites against the newly promoted side.

Norwich have spent moderately this summer and Webber believes that Farke’s management skills can help them accomplish their goal of avoiding relegation.

Webber believes Farke is destined for the very top.

He told The Times: “Daniel has the potential to be a world class coach and he has the potential to one day be stood in Liverpool’s dugout, managing them, not managing against them.”

Jurgen Klopp manager

It’s certainly high praise, and Jurgen Klopp will be an inspiration for countryman Farke.

Farke, 42, worked at Borussia Dortmund between 2015 and 2017 in charge of the German club’s reserve team, but did not cross over with Klopp.

Farke told the EDP in March that he is a big fan of Klopp.

The Liverpool boss is not going anywhere of course for now, his contract runs until 2022.

Farke still has a lot to prove, this is his first season in top flight management, before he emerges as a genuine contender to succeed the Reds boss.
