Norwich, Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton stars among the strikers Wolves are targeting but who is the best option?

Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the market for a new striker and owners Fosun are willing to sanction a sizeable fee for the right player, according to the Express and Star.

Nouha Dicko and Al-Hilal loanee Leo Bonatini are the only two senior forwards in manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s first team squad and three names have emerged as potential competition for the duo.

But who is the best choice?

Sam Gallagher

Available for loan from Southampton after signing a new contract with the Premier League club in July, Gallagher scored 11 Championship goals for Blackburn Rovers last season to prove his credentials at the level.

However, Sky Sports reports that Wolves face competition from Midlands rivals Aston Villa and Birmingham City, as well as Derby County, for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Nelson Oliveira

Oliveira started the season on the bench amid reports of a falling out with Norwich City boss Daniel Farke, but has still scored two in three and was said to be available for £8m by the Nottingham Post.

The 26-year-old also recently said: “I admire Nuno Espirito Santo as coach and I even have friends at Wolves, but I’m happy at Norwich.”

Jordan Rhodes

Sheffield Wednesday only paid £10m for Rhodes at the start of the summer following his loan spell from Middlesbrough, but could already move the 27-year-old if they recoup that fee.

The Scotland international has only scored three times for the Owls, though, and has struggled for form in recent times, but if Wolves can secure a loan move then maybe it would be worth a punt.
