Norwich City and Sheffield United are looking at Belgium for new signings with Jean-Luc Dompe and Mandela Keita potentially on their way to England, as reported by Voetbal Krant and Het Nieuwsblad.
The Canaries and The Blades may well be reunited in the Championship next season.
The Canaries are well adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table. And while Paul Heckingbottom’s Blades are still in the play-offs the division below, they have failed to win any of their last three games and are just four points above 11th.
Neither side will be particularly pleased with their performances over the last 10 months. So you can probably expect a summer of change at Carrow Road and Bramall Lane.
Jupiler League duo
According to Voetbal Krant, Norwich have already entered talks with 26-year-old Dompe. A former France U20 international, the winger has 15 assists in 34 games this season for a struggling Zulte Waregam side.
“I think I’m having one of the best seasons of my career. Certainly in terms of statistics,” Dompe tells Het Nieuwsblad.
Dompe’s contract expires in 2023. He was a target for Newcastle United and Burnley last year. Middlesbrough, meanwhile, had a £1.7 million bid turned down (RMC).

Sheffield United are also on the lookout for Jupiler League talent with Mandela Keita on their radar. The Blades have made an inquiry for the teenage midfielder. As have Anderlecht, Torino and Nice, while Vitesse Arnhem have failed with an approach of their own.

19-year-old Keita plays for OH Leuven, Leicester City’s sister club, and has already established himself as a first-team regular with 28 appearances across all competitions.
Keita is not the only talented midfielder on Sheffield United’s radar. The South Yorkshire outfit are also looking at the Republic of Ireland’s former West Ham starlet Josh Cullen.
Like Keita and Dompe, he plies his trade in Belgium, with Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht.
