The Leeds United winger had a moment to forget on international duty.

Leeds United's Stuart Dallas gets away from Nottingham Forest's Jack Robinson at Elland Road on October 27, 2018 in Leeds, England.

Leeds United’s Stuart Dallas is the subject of some criticism online from Northern Ireland supporters.

Northern Ireland lost their fourth successive Nations League game on Sunday by losing 2-1 to Austria at Windsor Park.

Valentino Lazaro curled home a 93rd-minute winner – a goal where the Leeds man was mostly to blame.

The Whites winger, who was deployed at left-back, cheaply lost possession on the halfway line and in the second minute of injury time, and Austria made him pay the penalty.

Here’s how some Northern Irish fans reacted to the disastrous moment:

From a Leeds perspective, you hope that the error does not lead to a significant loss of confidence, and ultimately a loss of form.

He is too important for United at the moment.

With Gaetano Berardi and Luke Ayling out injured, Marcelo Bielsa has been forced to rely on Dallas to play right-back in recent weeks.

He did not acquit himself brilliantly at West Brom prior to the international break, but he remains Bielsa’s best option and therefore the Elland Road club – who host Bristol City on Saturday – can’t afford to have him licking his wounds for long.
