Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal conjured up a superb performance on Saturday afternoon to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners went into the game having lost 3-1 at Manchester City before the international break, with another defeat in a big away game posing more questions about Arsene Wenger.
Meanwhile, Spurs had been hailed by fans and pundits alike for another strong start to the season, and many believed that Tottenham would claim the win on Saturday and prove that they are now the leading force in North London.

However, Spurs served up a disappointing display, with England stars Harry Kane and Dele Alli both lacklustre after spending the international break on the sidelines with an injury.
Arsenal took the lead with a superb Shkodran Mustafi header, though Spurs can feel somewhat aggrieved given that Davinson Sanchez’s perfectly-timed challenge was bizarrely given as a free kick, which led to the goal.
The Gunners doubled their lead before the break, with Alexandre Lacazette crossing for Alexis Sanchez to fire home from close range – and that’s how it stayed as Spurs slipped to a 2-0 defeat.

After the final whistle, Arsenal players took to Twitter to celebrate, with Jack Wilshere – who has rarely shied away from mocking Spurs – celebrating the win, adding a message of ‘North London is Red’, which was a message repeated by a number of his team-mates.
Teammate Theo Walcott, who mocked Spurs with a 2-0 celebration back in 2014, repeated the trick again this weekend, and goalscorers Mustafi and Sanchez also celebrated a superb derby day performance.
