Brentford and Liverpool played out an unbelievable game on Saturday night, and Bees boss Thomas Frank has heaped praise on Christian Norgaard.
The Bees went ahead against Liverpool through Ethan Pinnock, only for Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah to turn the game on its head.
Vitaly Janelt brought Brentford level, and even when Curtis Jones fired Liverpool back in front, Yoane Wissa hit back with a leveller for the hosts.
Brentford were well worth their point, with Liverpool absolutely knowing they had been in a tough game.
Frank talks up Norgaard in Liverpool side
Before the game, Brentford boss Thomas Frank gave the big sell on midfielder Christian Norgaard.
Formerly of Hamburg, Brondby and Fiorentina, Norgaard has been vital for Brentford since his 2019 move.
Now emerging as a quality holding midfielder, Frank has branded Norgaard a ‘late bloomer’.
Frank, speaking to The Independent, added that he doesn’t think you would notice if Norgaard played for Liverpool instead of Fabinho – the £44million Liverpool man.
“I think Christian is a late bloomer,” said Frank. “And I’m very, very pleased that he’s playing for Brentford.”
“Because I think if you took him out and put him into Liverpool, and changed the two players, Fabinho and him, I don’t think you’d see much difference,” he added.

Norgaard didn’t quite live up to the billing
The 27-year-old was an important part of Brentford’s draw, but Norgaard didn’t quite match up to Fabinho.
No tackles, no interceptions, just one key pass and only 24 accurate passes – this wasn’t prime Norgaard.
Liverpool are unlikely to be in the market for Norgaard any time soon as he doesn’t really fit their usual age profile.
Still, Norgaard will be key if Brentford are to stay up, just as Fabinho will be to any Liverpool title charge.
