Tottenham Hotspur fans can breathe a sigh of relief whenever Mauricio Pochettino is linked with a move to Real Madrid.
That’s because the Argentine has not been Spurs’ manager for almost a year, meaning that it’s of little consequence to them where he goes now.
But the Pochetttino to Real rumours might be starting to crank back up again.
According to Onda Cero, the former Tottenham boss has been in touch with the Spanish giants with regards to potentially replacing Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane’s side suffered back-to-back home defeats by Cadiz and Shakhtar over the past eight days ago, increasing pressure on the Frenchman.
Here’s how fans of the North London side reacted to the Argentine – who spent five years as their manager – joining Madrid:
This would be an excellent move for Pochettino.
Although he did mighty fine work with Spurs, he never won a trophy and you could argue that the 18-month period of spending no money didn’t help on that front.
But he could and would have a lot more money available at the Bernabeu and with it, a lot more chance of winning something.
