West Ham United fans are certainly not keen on an update from the Guardian which suggests that Craig Dawson could sign imminently.

David Moyes’ side have been chasing a central defender all summer, but have failed to get a deal across the line for multiple targets.

West Ham are now closing in on Dawson of Watford, but that addition does not seem to have appeased Hammers fans.

Dawson has a great deal of Premier League experience, but has been relegated in two of his last three seasons in the top flight.

And many West Ham fans are not happy with the transfer update, which suggests that he could sign soon.

Moyes had been looking to add a central defender who would be a permanent starter for West Ham, but Dawson seems more likely to arrive as cover.

The Hammers already have Angelo Ogbonna and Issa Diop available, and there has to be question marks over whether Dawson will be able to split up that pairing.

If Dawson does sign for the Hammers soon, as expected, then he could make his debut in West Ham’s next match after the international break, which comes against Tottenham Hotspur.
