Arsenal fans are not keen on the idea of letting Lucas Torreira leave, even if it means they could get Thomas Partey in exchange.
Partey has become one of Arsenal’s top targets this summer, but with Mikel Arteta’s side having to work on a limited budget, getting hold of the Ghanian is proving difficult.
Arsenal may have to raise funds from player sales to bring Partey in, and the Daily Mail claim that Torreira could be one of the players put up for sale.
Torreira is currently out injured, and he is yet to fully establish himself as a starter in Arteta’s Arsenal side.
However, Gunners fans hold the Uruguayan in high regard, and they have suggested that letting Torreira go could turn out to be a big mistake.
Torreira has played 34 games for Arsenal this season across all competitions, scoring twice and claiming one assist.
He is edging closer to fitness now, and there does appear to be a space up for grabs in Arteta’s midfield.
Granit Xhaka has made himself a permanent starter for Arsenal recently, but the likes of Dani Ceballos, Matteo Guendouzi and even Ainsley Maitland-Niles have been competing for the place alongside him.
