Arsenal fans have been left disappointed after reports in AS Sport claim they will have no option to buy Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid.
Arsenal are set to sign Odegaard on loan, but the deal will only be a temporary one.
AS claims that Odegaard will definitely return to Madrid in the summer.
And the update has disappointed many Arsenal supporters, who were hoping that a longer term deal could be arranged.
In fairness to Arsenal, they do not appear to have the budget in January to land a player of Odegaard’s quality on a permanent move.
The hope for the Gunners will surely be that Odegaard does enjoy his time at the Emirates Stadium so much that he will push to make the transfer a long-term one in the summer.
However, even as a short term fix, he could help to improve Arsenal’s chances of success this campaign dramatically.
