Galatasaray fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing that Mbaye Diagne might be about to swap Istanbul for the Midlands.
The Express and Star are reporting that the Baggies have agreed a loan deal for the 9-cap Senegal international, which will run until the end of the season.
Additionally, the Express and Star state that it remains unclear whether an option to buy has been included in the deal.
However, such an opportunity could arise if West Brom stay in the Premier League this season.
Usually, the reaction of a club’s fanbase to seeing a player leave is a good way to judge if they’re any good or not.
In this instance, Diagne is clearly loved by the Galatasaray supporters judging by their comments about his impending departure.
Why wouldn’t he be loved?
The 29-year-old has 11 goals in 19 games this season, and has netted an eye-catching 22 goals in 39 games for the Turkish giants in total.
If Diagne – who cost Galatasaray €12.8 million (£11.3 million) – can bring this form to the Hawthorns, then Sam Allardyce’s side have a pretty good chance of survival.
The Baggies are in desperate need of a goalscorer, having found the net just 15 times this season.
