Simon Jordan has labelled the talk that Daniel Levy is ‘desperate’ to bring Mauricio Pochettino back to Tottenham as ‘nonsense’, as he told talkSPORT.

The former Crystal Palace owner was reacting to talk in the Sunday Times that it’s a ‘done deal’ that Levy wants Pochettino back at Spurs – but he was having none of it.

Leading up to Tottenham’s win at Manchester City over the weekend, there was a lot of noise around Antonio Conte’s interview with Sky Italia.

Added with that, many have claimed that the Italian could walk from his north London post if he doesn’t get what he wants in the summer.

Whilst all of that happens on the outside, Conte and his players did the business on the pitch against the Premier League champions.

Jordan, who would have been in his fair share of boardrooms during his career, reacted to the noise around the club of late.

“I read an article in the Sunday Times from Rod Liddle that the done deal is that Daniel Levy is absolutely desperate to get Pochettino back,” said Jordan. “And Conte is aware of this.

“I mean I don’t know where this rubbish comes from. I just look at it sometimes and think it’s just disingenuous nonsense.

“I don’t like it. I think it’s inaccurate. Mis-represented and disingenuous. It also gives a certain section of the media a disservice, it’s just about spinning people up.”

Whilst Pochettino did wonders at Spurs and will be remembered fondly by the supporters, it just doesn’t make sense why Levy would want him back when he has Conte in his dugout.

This is perhaps what Conte was talking about and how the media are always trying to ‘create problems’ between the club and the individual in charge, as he told Sky Sports.

Either way, Spurs fans will only focus on what’s going on in front of their eyes and their team is in with a chance of securing a top-four finish.

Those three defeats on the bounce didn’t help matters, but if they can see off Burnley on Wednesday night, then those losses will be quickly forgotten about.
