Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to hit back at a tweet from Sky Sports involving Virgil van Dijk and Manchester City’s Ruben Dias.

Sky Sports asked their Early Kick-Off panel if they felt the Portugal international has had a bigger impact than the Dutchman had at Anfield.

The footage shows one panelist stating that Dias has had a bigger impact, before the presenter exclaims ‘absolutely’ in agreement.

Now, this hasn’t gone down well with the Liverpool fans on Twitter.

In our view, we’re on their side – Van Dijk undoubtedly had the bigger impact.

It mustn’t be forgotten that the £75 million man didn’t just transform Jürgen Klopp’s defence, but he arguably transformed the whole team.

He arrived when Liverpool were just trying to qualify for the Champions League, and eventually ended up helping them win the competition, as well as the Premier League.

In the case of Dias, there’s no denying the £64.3 million man is a fantastic centre-back.

However, we can’t help but feel Pep Guardiola would still be doing pretty well without him, such is the quality littered throughout City’s squad.

Van Dijk’s injury has also shown just how vital he is to Liverpool – without him, they’ve lost nine games and currently sit sixth.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans have been saying in response to the tweet from Sky Sports…
