Kevin Campbell has stated that Arsenal ‘aren’t going to sign’ Jack Wilshere, as he told the Highbury Squad.
The former striker labelled talk about Wilshere re-joining Arsenal as ‘nonsense’, with the midfielder currently being a free-agent.
This is despite Mikel Arteta’s comments where he stated that the ‘door is open’ for Wilshere in returning to the club, as he told Sky Sports.
Wilshere himself responded and stated ‘I am sure I will have a conversation with someone’ regarding the matter, as he told Sky Sports.
Now, that could mean one of a number of things from giving him a helping hand to get fit or possibly looking to sign him up.
But Campbell is pretty clear that Wilshere is only at Arsenal ‘to get fit’ and there’s no way the 29-year-old will don their colours again.
“He’s only coming back to get fit to train for a team,” said Campbell. “That’s all I know. They aren’t going to sign him.
“And I don’t know where all this comes from. If Arsenal wanted to sign Jack Wilshere, he would have been signed already.
“So, where all this nonsense is coming from, I just don’t know.”

There’s no doubt that Arsenal should help Wilshere out, however they can because he has given a lot to that club.
The former England international has struggled since those days when he used to work his magic on the Emirates pitch and he needs that confidence back in his legs.
He left Bournemouth in the summer after his contract expired and the Championship side opted against offering him a new deal.
It does seem as though Wilshere just needs the happiness to return to his football, and there’s no doubt, that many Arsenal fans will want him to find that.
And if the club that made him can help him find that path once more then it will be great, but it would be a huge surprise if they offered him a new contract.
