Juventus appointing Andrea Pirlo as their new manager was a massive shock to everyone over the weekend. The legendary Italian was one of the best in the game but with zero managerial experience, many people are sceptical about the appointment.
However, multiple rumours have been floating around about Pirlo’s plans for next season. One interesting report was that former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey was no longer in his plans.
The Mirror claimed on Monday that the new Juventus boss has told Ramsey that he isn’t needed anymore. The Welshman has reportedly been asked to find a new club which would interest a few sides in England.
TuttoJuve claimed in June that Newcastle United were interested in bringing Ramsey back to the Premier League. 90min revealed that Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton were also keen on the former Arsenal man, and the two sides would have been excited about the news.
However, Ramsey’s representatives, Avid Sports and Entertainment Group, took to Twitter to respond to the rumours and the two interested English sides will not like it.
Bad news for Everton and Newcastle United?
If Ramsey’s agents are to be believed, the midfielder is going nowhere. That makes sense considering that the Welshman only joined Juventus a year ago and his enormous wages would have had to come down if he was to make a move elsewhere.
That now means Everton and Newcastle United will have to look elsewhere to strengthen their midfield. The Magpies’ chances of getting him were considerably reduced once their takeover attempt collapsed.
Everton, on the other hand, have shown how ambitious they can be over the last two years. Ramsey would have been a very good addition to the Toffees but Ancelotti now needs to line up another midfielder to strengthen his squad in the coming weeks.
