Arsenal and Spurs have been linked with moves to sign Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick.
Sampdoria’s Patrik Schick (R) in action
The agent of Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick has told isport.blesk.cz that rumours linking his client with Arsenal and Spurs are ‘absolute nonsense’.
Schick, 21, joined Samp from Sparta Prague last summer, having shown during a loan spell with Bohemians 1905 last term, where he scored eight goals in 28 appearances.
The striker was seen as one for the future, but he has starred for the Italian side, earning a reputation as something of a super sub having hit six goals in 18 appearances from the bench this season, as well as one goal in one substitute cap for the Czech Republic.
As a starter, Schick has scored once in five games for Sampdoria, and his record in Italian football – he’s also scored twice the Coppa Italia this season – had allegedly attracted interest.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tuesday evening that Schick’s agent Pavel Paska is set for meetings with North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham later today in order to discuss a summer move to the Premier League.
It was claimed that Paska would meet with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger before holding talks with new Tottenham chief scout Steve Hitchen, with Spurs willing to pay up to €20million (£17million) to land the striker.

Now though, Paska has spoken to isport.blesk.cz in his native Czech Republic, and has stated that the reports are ‘absolute nonsense’, and that striker Schick remains with Sampdoria
“It’s absolute nonsense,” said Paska. “Schick remains a Sampdoria player,” he added.
Schick’s super-sub status suits Tottenham well, as they would be looking for somebody to fill in for star striker Harry Kane rather than somebody to replace him, whereas Arsenal fans would be looking for more of a big-name addition, with Schick’s future now one to monitor for both sets of North London fans.
