A commentator has criticised Harvey Elliott for his actions for Liverpool during extra time of their League Cup final victory over Chelsea.
Kai Havertz and Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold were embroiled in a minor scuffle at one point.
But the 18-year-old midfielder added fuel to the fire by running up and pushing the Chelsea attacker, causing a mini melee between both sets of players.
And Peter Drury, speaking on commentary of ESPN’s feed, criticised the youngster for his behaviour.
He said: “Well that’s just silly. It’s none of his business. He’s made it his business – and it’s bad business!”
Elliott wasn’t even supposed to be included in the squad.
However, an injury to Thiago Alcantara in the warm up saw Naby Keita replace him in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup, giving Elliott a bump to the bench in the process.
The former Fulham sensation replaced Jordan Henderson on 79 minutes and helped things ticking over in Liverpool’s midfield.
That interaction with Havertz was among his only notable moments during the 40 minutes he had on the field.
The teenage gem did, however, score his penalty during the shootout as Liverpool won 11-10 to lift the trophy, with Caoimihin Kelleher netting the decisive spot-kick.
