Everton goalkeeper Matty Johnson has joined non-league side Ramsbottom United.
The 19-year-old has decided to join the club on a temporary basis as he continues to remain way down the pecking order at Everton, with the likes of Jordan Pickford, Joel Robles, Maarten Stekelenburg.
Johnson is also below the likes of Mateusz Hewelt and Louis Gray in the Everton academy side, leaving him to join the eighth tier side on loan.
Ramsbottom confirmed the deal on their official website, after they needed a goalkeeper following an injury to number one Danny Taberner who is set to undergo a scan on his knee this week.
Johnson has already featured on loan in Division One North, turning out while on loan at Radcliffe Borough FC but his stay with the Manchester-based side was cut short after breaking his leg.
Now, the Rochdale-born youngster, who has been with Everton for five years since joining the club as a 14-year-old, will be looking to add first-team football to his CV, albeit way down the English pyramid of football.
