Kevin Nolan has suggested West Ham United striker Andy Carroll is getting back to his best form.

West Ham United skipper Kevin Nolan has told the club’s website he feels Andy Carroll is getting back to his best.

Nolan has suggested that the striker is a far better forward than many give him credit for, with the perception from some fans he’s a big unit and works that only quality to his advantage.

“People obviously see him for his aerial ability, but he’s got a lot of ability on the floor and you’ve seen that in a couple of his goals – Swansea and the finish against Leicester,” said Nolan.

“Now he’s getting to full fitness everything is going really well for him and I’m delighted. After the tough time he’s had with injuries he’s come back with hunger and desire.”

Nolan’s comments are encouraging for West Ham fans because it suggests Carroll has the ability to try and stay effective against different sets of tactics.

He’ll always have it in his locker to be a big, imposing and aggressive type of player but it’s significant the midfielder feels he has a more subtle side to his game.

The rough approach doesn’t always work and therefore, Carroll’s ability to play with the ball on the deck is worth noting.

The challenge for the striker over the next few games will be to maintain his form and add to his current Premier League goal tally of five.

Carroll should be aiming for ten goals plus by the end of the season and if he pulls it off, the Hammers are going to be in a great position.
