Leeds have won in the Championship yet again, with a 4-1 triumph at Deepdale.

Leeds United have cruised to victory against Preston North End at Deepdale this afternoon as they continue their fine form in the Championship.

Leeds looked like genuine promotion candidates yet again with the win. Goals from Kemar Roofe, Hadi Sacko, Souleymane Doukara and the returning Pablo Hernandez proved enough for a 4-1 win with Marnick Vermijl scoring what proved to be only a consolation.

It was Leeds’ eighth win in ten games and they will be hoping to continue their form as they push for promotion under Garry Monk.

It was a result that certainly left former striker Noel Whelan thoroughly impressed and over-the-moon with his former team’s performance.

Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds he had this to say about the result, with significant praise for the club’s two central defenders and substitutes:

“Absolutely brilliant from every single player. The subs have made a difference and been a part of this win – everyone wants to get involved.

“Pontus Jansson is right in there with the Leeds fans and they’ve thrown a hat at him – he loves it. All the players are right out there.

“When you’re up against someone like Makienok, who is big and physical in the aerial battle – it can be tough, but the centre half partnership have done well today to deal with that and worked as a team.

“We’ve come here and bullied a team who are used to doing the bullying, and put four quality goals past them. I see a Leeds team here with loads and loads of belief.”

Jansson and Bartley are clearly two fantastic new arrivals at the club and have been key in Leeds’ brilliant campaign so far.

The impact from the subs is also superb to see. Leeds have often struggled for strength in depth but Monk has a good dynamic at the current squad and fans are starting to dream of promotion.
