Stuart Dallas has made just one Championship start for Leeds United this season, but Noel Whelan wants to see him feature more often.

Noel Whelan has told BBC Radio Leeds that he would like to see Stuart Dallas given a more substantial run in the Leeds side after the Whites’ disappointing defeat away at Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
Thomas Christiansen’s men went into the international break having lost their third game out of four in the Championship as the Owls strolled to a 3-0 win where they were unlucky not to win by a greater margin.

Of the players who started for Leeds, Samuel Saiz was perhaps the only one who deserved any praise as he seemed to be the only player capable of creating something for Pierre-Michel Lasogga up front.
Dallas was one of the players who was brought on when the game was virtually gone. And Whelan suggested after the contest that the Northern Irishman – who has started in just one of his 10 league appearances this term – should be in line to feature more frequently given what he brings to the side.

“Dallas when he came on looked bright again, he looks fit,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.
“Maybe he needs a run in the side. Someone that will do that defensive side as well and work up and down that line but also has that creative side to him.”
Though Dallas did not have the best game when he did start – with Leeds losing 3-1 at Cardiff – it is surely fair to say that he is playing some of his best football this term since he arrived at Elland Road, scoring against both Sunderland and Birmingham.
And perhaps by giving him a run in the starting lineup, Dallas will soon be able to replicate the form that has often made him a brilliant impact substitute for the side.
