Noel Whelan has given his take on Leeds United’s defeat in the Premier League this afternoon on BBC Radio Leeds (4:51pm, May 1, 2021).
Leeds have suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brighton away from home in the Premier League today.
Pascal Gross put the Seagulls in the lead from the penalty spot after 14 minutes, and Danny Welbeck doubled the advantage on 79 minutes.
Former Leeds striker Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he has said that the Whites were “woeful”.
Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds (4:51pm, May 1, 2021): “Woeful, absolutely woeful”.
The Englishman added: “Not a trouble for the goalkeeper in 93 minutes of a football match, very lacklustre, very disjointed, not much energy about it, losing 50-50 battles.”

Match Stats
Over the course of the 90 minutes this afternoon, hosts Brighton had 42% of the possession, took 17 shots of which five were on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Leeds had 58% of the possession, took 11 shots of which two were on target, and earned nine corners, according to BBC Sport.
Disappointing from Leeds United
As the above stats show, Leeds were very poor against Brighton and looked far from their best.

Leeds were high on confidence heading into the match against Brighton, but it was just not their day.
