The former Leeds striker was delighted on social media.
Leeds United icon Noel Whelan was delighted with the club after their 2-1 win over Derby County on Saturday afternoon.
The Whites beat Paul Clement’s men during the Championship’s early kick-off, Tom Adeyemi opening the scoring for United before Chris Wood scored the winner.
And Whelan was delighted for his former side – as well as Leeds as a whole after Leeds Rhinos won at Wembley Stadium on the same day.
As such, Whelan sent a message to ‘every’ Leeds United and Rhinos fan – but added that it was for over 18s only!
Leeds’ first Championship victory of the season puts them in a great position going into the international break. As boss Uwe Rosler has been at pains to point out, the schedule United have faced over the last few weeks has been a grueling one that has hindered their start to the league campaign.
And yet the Whites have come out of it unbeaten. Winning at Derby is no mean feat and, with a long break now ahead of them, the Leeds squad can focus on how they can try and keep the momentum going.
