Leeds United drew with Newcastle United in the Championship on Friday evening.

Noel Whelan has told BBC Sport that Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson was immense against Newcastle United on Friday evening.
Jansson featured for Leeds in the Championship game against Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park in the Championship.
The Sweden international centre-back started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Whites played a 1-1 draw with the Magpies.
Former Leeds striker Whelan was following the game, and he was impressed with the performance of the 26-year-old.
“I thought Jansson was immense,” Whelan told BBC Sport. “The whole back four, though – bar the goal, they never switched off.”
“Jansson was my Man of the Match – he threw his body in front of all kinds of shots,” added Whelan. “It was a great battle between him and Mitrovic, and he was involved in the equaliser.
“Leeds were out of the game for long spells, and the way it was looking – I’ll be honest, I didn’t think Leeds would equalise. I think that’s why everyone is so giddy, because it was so unexpected.”
Jansson is one of the best centre-backs in the Championship and has been superb for Leeds so far this season.
Against Newcastle on Friday evening, the Swede and goalkeeper Robert Green were the two best players for the Whites.
Leeds are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 73 points from 42 matches.
Garry Monk’s side will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road in the Championship.
