Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United have drawn with Middlesbrough.

Leeds United have failed to return to winning ways this afternoon, as they have drawn 1-1 with Middlesbrough away from home in the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side went down 3-1 to Norwich City at Elland Road in the Championship last weekend.
The performance of the Whites against the Canaries was disappointing and left much to be desired, and fans will have expected a lot more against Middlesbrough this afternoon.
With Tony Pulis’s side also aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship this season, Leeds were always going to find it tough to even pick up a point at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship this afternoon.
Middlesbrough took the lead just two minutes into the second half, thanks to 23-year-old attacking midfielder Lewis Wing’s goal.

Then in the 11th minute of injury time, 23-year-old central midfielder Kalvin Phillips scored the equaliser for Leeds.
The result means that Middlesbrough are now fourth in the Championship table with 51 points from 30 matches, while Leeds currently find themselves at the top of the standings with 58 points from 31 games.
Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and the former Leeds striker has given his take on the comeback for the Whites and has praised Phillips.
Whelan said about Leeds on BBC Radio Leeds at full time on Saturday afternoon (3:01pm, February 9, 2018): “They kept going, they kept probing, they kept testing Middlesbrough.
“Yes, we know they are organised, yes, we know defensively they are very, very strong, but in the end they broke and it was the man Kalvin Phillips.
“I thought he was excellent all game. He should have started against Norwich in my opinion, but it just goes to show how vital he is defensively and in attack as well. Mature, mature, player.”
