Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United won against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Leeds United have maintained their good run of form so far this season with a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic away from home at the DW Stadium in the Championship this afternoon.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side headed into the match against Wigan on the back of a 3-0 victory over Salford City in the EFL Cup.
The Whites were favourites to win against the Latics, but the home team were expected to make it tough for Leeds.
However, the West Yorkshire outfit did not have too much of a problem, as they eased past Paul Cook’s side 2-0.
Patrick Bamford was the star of the show for the hosts, as the forward scored his first goal in the 34th minute and doubled the advantage on 65 minutes.

Wigan played most of the match with 10 men due to the dismissal of Joe Williams in the 21st minute.
Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan was following the match, and he has given his take on the final result.
Whelan said about Leeds’s performance on BBC Radio Leeds on Saturday afternoon (4:53pm, August 17, 2019): “It could have been more. Great performance, very professional, carried on where they finished off against Salford in midweek in the cup.”
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the DW Stadium on Saturday afternoon, visitors Leeds had 76% of the possession, took 19 shots of which six were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
