Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds United won against Bristol City in the Championship this afternoon.
Leeds United returned to winning ways this afternoon, as they got the better of Bristol City 3-0 away from home at the Ashton Gate Stadium in the Championship.
The West Yorkshire outfit headed into the match against City on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Reading at Elland Road. It was the Whites’ third successive loss in the Championship.
Thomas Christiansen’s side had been struggling for positive results and performances in recent weeks, but this afternoon, they picked up the points in Bristol with relative ease.
Samuel Saiz put the visiting team in the lead in the fourth minute and added the second on 14 minutes. Pierre-Michel Lasogga wrapped up the scoring with Leeds’s third midway through the second half.
The performance of Leeds against City was very encouraging, and the West Yorkshire outfit fully deserved the win.
Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he gave his opinion at full time.
“It has been a great day for the players, the staff, the whole club,” Whelan told BBC Radio Leeds at full time. “They have given everything that the fans needed to see today – a reaction, that spirit, that fight, the aggression, the Leeds United that we know we is there, that we love and we love to come and watch.”
Both City and Leeds ended the game with 10 men.
