Leeds United have maintained their good run of form with a 1-0 win against Bristol City away from home in the Championship this afternoon.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side headed into the match against City on the back of a 4-0 hammering of West Bromwich Albion at Elland Road in the league.
Patrick Bamford scored the only goal in the match between City and Leeds this afternoon.
The result means that Leeds are now second in the Championship table with 70 points from 36 matches, just two points behind leaders Norwich City.
Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he has given his take on the win for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds at full time on Saturday afternoon (4:58pm, March 9, 2019): “Get over the line. Doesn’t matter how it comes, showed a different side of Leeds today, had to be determined, had to be gritty, had to be physical at times.”
Leeds are in good form at the moment, and fans will be pleased that the team managed to pick up all three points against City, who are aiming to finish in the Championship playoffs this season.
The Whites will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Reading away from home in the Championship.
