Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United have won against Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.

Leeds United have built on their win against Swansea City with victory over Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road in the Championship this afternoon.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side returned to winning ways in the league on February 13 when they got the better of Swansea 2-1 at Elland Road.
With Bolton fighting for survival in the second tier of English football and the game being played at Elland Road, the West Yorkshire outfit were expected to win.
Leeds did just that, as Bielsa’s side got the better of Bolton 2-1 at home to maintain their charge towards automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Patrick Bamford put Leeds in the lead from the penalty spot on 16 minutes, but the home team conceded the equaliser midway through the first half when Mark Beevers found the net.

Then midway through the second half, Ezgjan Alioski put Leeds 2-1 up, and the scoreline stayed that way for the rest of the game.
Former Leeds striker Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he has given his take on the win for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds at full time on Saturday afternoon (5pm, February 23, 2019): “You need it (luck) along the way, you really do.
“If you are going to be successful, you have got to have that little bit of luck, and we certainly had that with the second goal.
“I am still quite bewildered how it went it, but it doesn’t matter. It went it, and that was the winning goal.”
