Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United drew with Brentford at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday.

Leeds United have played out a 1-1 draw with Brentford at Elland Road in the Championship this afternoon.
After a goalless first half, Neal Maupay put the visiting team in the lead from the penalty spot on 62 minutes.
The West Yorkshire outfit restored parity through Sweden international defender Pontus Jansson in the 88th minute.
Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan was following the match, and he has given his take on the performance of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds at full time (2:26pm, October 6, 2018) when asked if Leeds deserved a point: “I think definitely a point. I don’t think there was too much between the two sides.”
“I don’t think either side will probably grumble with taking a point away,” added Whelan.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, hosts Leeds had 54% of the possession, took 12 shots of which three were on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Brentford had 46% of the possession, took 12 shots of which six were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.
Luke Ayling was sent off for Leeds for two bookable offences in the fourth minute of injury time.
Leeds played well against Brentford and came close to finding a winner through Lewis Baker late on.
The Whites, though, will be disappointed with the final result, and will consider the 1-1 draw two points dropped.
