Leeds United have failed to bounce back from their defeat to Chelsea last weekend, as they went down 2-1 to West Ham United at home this evening.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side lost 3-1 to Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge in London in the league last weekend.
Leeds lost the match despite taking an early lead, and they were looking to return to winning ways against West Ham this evening.
Just like against Chelsea, the West Yorkshire club took the lead again, this time after just six minutes when Mateusz Klich scored from the penalty spot.
West Ham restored parity through Tomas Soucek in the 25th minute, and Angelo Ogbonna put the Hammers in the lead in the 80th minute.
Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he has given his take on the final result at full time.
Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds at full time (9:53pm, December 11, 2020): “First half we were competitive, second half I think West Ham just kind of upped the ante.
“They had a lot of possession, dominated a lot of the game. In the second half we did have our spells, we certainly had our chance, but just couldn’t get take it.”
Former Fulham and Queens Park Rangers forward Rodney Marsh has also given his take on the final result.
The result means that Leeds are now 14th in the Premier League table with 14 points from 12 matches, while West Ham are fifth in the standings with 20 points from 12 games.
