Wednesday went ahead at the Hillsborough Stadium in the 25th minute when Gary Hooper scored. The former Celtic forward doubled the advantage for the home team on 41 minutes.
Kieran Lee wrapped up the points for the Owls in the 82nd minute with a wonderful strike.
Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan was following the match, and he told BBC Radio Leeds at full time: “They looked awful today. Bar the first 15 minutes when there was some great football played, mainly by Saiz, they were second in the game to Sheffield Wednesday. Too many below-par performances out there today.”
