Noel Whelan has given his take on BBC Radio Leeds on Leeds United’s defeat to Arsenal this evening.

Leeds have suffered a 4-2 defeat to Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

The Gunners were 3-0 up at half time, thanks to two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and one from Hector Bellerin.

Aubameyang competed his hat-trick in the opening minutes of the second half to make it 4-0 to the home team.

Leeds tried to launch a comeback and found the back of the net twice through Pascal Struijk and Helder Costa, but the Gunners were never really in danger of losing the game.

Former Leeds star Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he has given his take on the final result.

Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds (6:27pm, February 14, 2021): “Obviously gutted and disappointed at the defeat, but I am very proud of the way they reacted in the second half. They showed that fight, little bit of courage that you need when you are going there at 4-0 down, you played so badly.”
