Leeds United were in action against Millwall at Elland Road in the Championship this afternoon.
Leeds United failed to return to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, as they suffered a 4-3 defeat to Millwall at home.
The West Yorkshire outfit headed into the match against Millwall at Elland Road on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town away from home at Portman Road in the league.
The game started badly for Leeds, as the Whites were 2-0 and a man down going into the half-time interval.
Aiden O’Brien and Lee Gregory scored for Millwall on 18 and 42 minutes respectively, with the home team seeing defender Liam Cooper sent off in the 37th minute.
Leeds came out fighting in the second period and scored three goals through Pierre-Michel Lasogga (two) and Kemar Roofe.
Millwall then launched their own comeback, and late goals from Tom Elliott and Jed Wallace saw the visiting team pick up all three points from the encounter.
The defeat means Leeds are now 10th in the Championship table with 43 points from 28 matches.
Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan was following the match, and he told BBC Radio Leeds at full time (4:59pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018): “The positives are they came out and they wore the shirt with pride.
“They did everything they possibly could to get something out of this game. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be. And that’s the disappointing thing.”
