Leeds United have been drawn against Liverpool in the quarter finals of the EFL Cup.
Leeds United have been drawn away at Liverpool in the last eight of the EFL Cup – and Noel Whelan has taken to Twitter to react.
The Whites came through a dramatic encounter with Norwich City on Tuesday night, as after a 2-2 draw in 120 minutes, Leeds won in the ensuing penalty shoot-out.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were in action at Anfield against Tottenham Hotspur, and pulled off a 2-1 win after two goals from Daniel Sturridge, with Vincent Janssen’s penalty little more than a consolation.
Now, the two teams have been drawn against each other, as Leeds will travel to Anfield at the end of November for their quarter final tie, with a place in the last four up for grabs.

Leeds will be underdogs for the tie, but the Whites have recent history of pulling off such cup upsets; fans will have the 1-0 away win over Manchester United back in 2010 in their minds when Leeds take on Liverpool.
After the draw was made, Leeds-born pundit and former Leeds striker Noel Whelan took to Twitter to give his reaction to the matchup.

Whelan admitted that he loved playing at Anfield, and it’s an exciting tie for all connected with Leeds, suggesting that ‘the dream is still on’ for Leeds as they chase EFL Cup glory this season.
Whelan added that he had great luck scoring against Liverpool during his playing career, and hopes Leeds get some of that Whelan luck when they travel to Anfield next month.
