Barry Douglas is available for Leeds United’s match against Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
Noel Whelan has praised Leeds United left-back Barry Douglas on BBC Radio Leeds.
The former Leeds striker has claimed that Douglas is the best left wing-back in the Championship.
Whelan made the comments ahead of Leeds’ Championship match against Wigan away from home at the DW Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Douglas, who joined Leeds from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £3 million, is available for the match after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Whelan told BBC Radio Leeds about Douglas: “There’s absolutely no shadow of a doubt that last season he was one of the best attacking full-backs in the Championship, and he is again still this season.
“Unfortunate to get the hamstring injury, but what a player to get back. There is no better left wing-back in the business, I do not think, in the Championship.”
Major boost for Leeds United
Douglas is one of the best left-backs in the Championship, and the 29-year-old has been playing well for Leeds so far this season.
The Scotland international has made 11 appearances in the Championship for Leeds so far this season, providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
During the 2017-18 campaign, the former Dundee United star scored five goals and provided 14 assists in 38 Championship starts for Wolves, according to WhoScored.
