Noel Whelan praises Samuel Saiz display

Leeds United won against Bristol City in the Championship at the weekend.

Noel Whelan has told BBC Radio Leeds that Samuel Saiz was excellent for Leeds United against Bristol City at the weekend.

Saiz featured for Leeds in their Championship game against City away from home at the Ashton Gate Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, started the match and played for 83 minutes.

The former Spain Under-19 international scored twice for Leeds, first in the fourth minute and then on 14 minutes.

Leeds won 3-0 against City to put an end to their run of three successive league defeats and are back on track for a place in the Championship playoffs.

Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and he was impressed with the performance of Saiz, stating that Spaniard was excellent.

Whelan told BBC Radio Leeds: “Saiz, I thought, was excellent today, really driving and direct at players, causing them problems.”

Leeds are fourth in the Championship table at the moment with 23 points from 13 matches, four points behind second-placed Cardiff City and six points behind leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.
