Noel Whelan has raved about Leeds United youngster Pascal Struijk on BBC Radio Leeds.
The former Leeds striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Radio Leeds, was impressed by the performance of Struijk during the Whites’ win against Leicester City in the Premier League at the weekend.
The 21-year-old central defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, leaving Whelan impressed.
Whelan said about Struijk on BBC Radio Leeds: “He is getting better and better. He is solid, by the way. Very aggressive in the air, very aggressive up against the centre-forward, good feet, covers ground well. He is getting better, by the way.”
Important player for Leeds United
Struijk, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, is fast establishing himself as a key player for Leeds.
The 21-year-old started the season behind Liam Cooper, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente in the pecking order, but injuries have opened the door for him.

Although the youngster has not looked especially great when he has played in defensive midfield, when he has played at the back, he has looked very comfortable and capable.
According to WhoScored, Struijk has made nine starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season.
Leeds are 12th in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 20 matches.
