Kalvin Phillips is an important player for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.

The former Leeds striker has been impressed with the position in which Phillips has played under head coach Marcelo Bielsa so far this season.
Whelan has also said that the 22-year-old is pivotal to the way that Leeds play.

“We are seeing the benefits and we are seeing a better Kalvin Phillips on the ball, his range of passing, and he is the one who is pivotal to the way they play.”

Phillips is one of the best young midfielders in the Championship, and the performances of the youngster have been great so far this season.
The 22-year-old has played in all eight of Leeds’s league matches so far this campaign, providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
During the 2017-18 season, Phillips made 36 starts and five substitute appearances in the Championship for the West Yorkshire outfit, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Leeds are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 18 points from eight matches, a point clear of second-placed Middlesbrough.
