Would Bournemouth’s Benik Afobe or Norwich City’s Nelson Oliveira be able replacements for Chris Wood at Leeds United?
Chris Wood seems to be on his way out of Leeds United. Earlier today, the New Zealand international released a statement on his official Twitter page stating that discussions with a Premier League club are going on (click here to read more).
The 25-year-old former Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion striker did not feature for Leeds in the Championship game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this evening.
Wood scored as many as 27 goals in the Championship last season, and it is going to be hard for the West Yorkshire outfit to replace him, especially at this stage of the summer transfer window.
Leeds, though, will have to sign a replacement if the New Zealand international leaves, but who will they turn to?

When asked on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6pm, August 18, 2017) whether Benik Afobe of Bournemouth or Norwich City’s Nelson Oliveira would be able replacements for Wood, former Leeds striker Noel Whelan said: “Oliveira, I would love to have at the club. I would like to have both of them at the club, to be honest with you.”

Afobe is on the books of Premier League club Bournemouth at the moment, but the 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact for the Cherries.
The striker was a success in the Championship when he was at Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the former Arsenal prospect would be a good signing for Leeds.
Norwich striker Oliveira would also be a good replacement for Wood at Elland Road, but it is hard to imagine the Canaries selling such an important player to a direct rival for the Championship playoffs at this stage of the summer transfer window.
