Noel Whelan makes encouraging observations about Ezgjan Alioski

Ezgjan Alioski scored for Leeds United against Barnsley in the Championship last weekend.

Noel Whelan has told BBC Radio Leeds that Leeds United winger Ezgjan Alioski is getting better and better.

The former Leeds striker was impressed with Alioski’s performance against Barnsley in the Championship last weekend.

The 25-year-old winger scored in the Whites’ 2-0 win and had an overall very good game.

The Macedonia international joined Leeds from Lugano in the summer transfer window, and it has taken him a while to get used to the Championship.

Whelan told BBC Radio Leeds: “Alioski, he just seems to be getting better. He is embracing the physical side, he is embracing the Championship a little bit more and what it’s all about, and his goal was exceptional.”

Alioski arrived at Elland Road in the summer with a strong reputation, and the winger is starting to show why he is so highly rated.

The winger has scored five goals and provided three assists in 17 Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

The Macedonia international is only going to get better, and his partnership with Samuel Saiz is going to be crucial as the season progresses.

Leeds will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Aston Villa at Elland Road in the Championship.
