Liam Cooper played well for Leeds United this season.

Noel Whelan has praised Leeds United defender Liam Cooper on BBC Radio Leeds.
The former Leeds striker has been impressed with Cooper’s performances for the Whites this season.
Whelan also believes that the 27-year-old central defender will get better and stronger during the 2019-20 campaign.
Whelan said about Cooper on BBC Radio Leeds: “I think he will come back bigger and stronger next season. I thought he was exceptional this year, more of a leader on the field that he has ever been.
“His personal performances, I think, have been at times surprising to some because they didn’t think he had it in him.”

Encouraging season
Leeds may have failed in their quest to clinch promotion to the Premier League, but this was a very encouraging season for the Whites.
Not many will have expected Marcelo Bielsa’s side to be in the running for automatic promotion until the final weeks of the season, and not many will have expected the Whites to feature in the playoffs.
Cooper is not exactly a ‘great’ central defender, but the 27-year-old is a leader at the back, and his performances this campaign were very encouraging.
According to WhoScored, the former Hull City and Chesterfield central defender made 38 appearances in the Championship this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process.
Leeds will be aiming to challenge for a top-two finish in the Championship next season.
