The performances of the players in recent weeks have not been great, and results have been disappointing.
Former Leeds striker Whelan has given his take on Radrizzani’s comments about the players lacking passion and spirit.
Whelan said on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:44pm, March 16, 2018): “Quite surprising to have heard it, to be quite honest with you, but quite honest as well in his assessment.
“I think we have seen in recent months that players have been lacking a bit of commitment, well maybe not commitment, but desire and quality at least.”
“Things need to be said at times and players need to take it on board,” added Whelan. “If a chairman is saying that, I would be discussing with myself as a football player that I am not going out there and doing my job, and not giving enough.”

Leeds will return to action this afternoon when they take on Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road in the Championship.
Wednesday are struggling at the moment, and the home team should take advantage of this and pick up maximum points from the encounter.
