The Leeds United defender signed a contract extension this week.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Noel Whelan has said he is “really pleased” with Conor Shaughnessy for pledging his long-term future to Leeds United.
The 21-year-old is tied to the Elland Road club until 2021 after signing a new deal on Thursday.
It is nothing less than the Irish centre-back deserves after proving himself an excellent addition in Leeds’ senior set-up and arguably came of age in Tuesday’s League Cup win over Premier League side Burnley at Turf Moor.

He caught the eye of all who watched him against the Clarets, and Whelan has said that the youngster has come on leaps and bounds, having been limited to the Under-23 side last term.
He told BBC Radio Leeds: “He did [grow up during the Burnley game]. I said during my commentary of the game that his positional sense, when the balls are coming in from wide areas, is exceptional.

“The distance between the goal and knowing where the goal was, how to read the crosses, and he’s just coming on leaps and bounds.
“I’m really pleased that he has signed a new long-term contract with the club.”
Shaughnessy is expected to make way from the first XI tomorrow when Leeds host Ipswich Town at Elland Road.
Head coach Thomas Christiansen has the luxury of welcoming back Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson – who haven’t conceded a Championship goal when both have been on the pitch this season – as his first-choice pairing in central defence.
